Repurpose Upcycle Reuse Recycle With Discarded Treasures

Repurpose Upcycle Reuse Recycle With Discarded Treasures

Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Happy to have you visiting with me today. Along with many others I will spend time roaming the internet researching, learning, reading, shopping, viewing pictures and ideas, and so on. I enjoy seeing creations of what people are making, what they are doing, how they are doing it, any instructions, and etc. I enjoy creating things, find it relaxing, its fun putting thoughts and ideas into something, and I find the little things bring a smile to my face, and hopefully yours as well.

Sometimes common words used get used in many ways that I lose track of what the actual definition might be. So, I am sharing a little list here hoping to also help others too. These are definitions to some words when I googled them.

* Repurpose : You take one thing and use it for something else (repurpose it) before it goes through any breakdown, and reformation. For instance a shirt being used to make a handbag, or shopping bag. Maybe a metal pipe into a sculpture. Use something in a new way.

* Upcycle : Is familiar to recycling in that you are taking something, and reworking it into a new form for continued use. Main difference being you are not altering it’s form back into it’s components for reuse.

* Reuse : Whatever the purpose, you basically reuse the item for the same purpose more than one time

* Recycle : Return (material) to a previous stage of cyclic process; convert waste to a reusable material. For example a recycled box is broken down, and made into new cardboard. Or, plastic is broke down , and melted into new plastic.

I know it can be confusing sometimes, but it also determines how we use the words and how we explain them to mean too.

Repurpose Vintage Items by giving new life to something already owned. Many things around a persons home that this can be done with. If you are like me, you won’t throw anything away because you might be able to use it some day. Looking through magazines, looking through thrift stores, roaming yard sales, and digging through junk there are always possibilities with things.

I adore those who use bits, and pieces from the past to create something new to enjoy. Seeing beyond what it is, to what it can be makes wonderful one-of-a-kind treasures to enjoy for many more years.

See how much fun junk can be? Hope you all enjoyed this topic today, and was able to maybe get a smile about a treasure or memory, see things in a different way, a little word definition assistance, and of course to maybe help you creating some ideas. If not reusing pieces as is, why not repurpose them in ways for you to enjoy, and cherish a little bit longer. Don’t forget the smile you could have with cherished memories too.

Thank You for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Have fun, enjoy, and be safe everyone. I look forward to your next visit.

Repurpose Reuse Recycle Upcycle For Fun Profit Memories

Repurpose Reuse Recycle Upcycle For Fun Profit Memories with LilacsNDreams. Welcome to everyone who visits.

Curious as to why so many of us like to diy crafting, repurposing, upcycling, and reusing. I would like to see what everyone’s reasons are for this wonderful fun technique.

I know there are many of us who do it because we enjoy it. Some of us like doing this to freshen up what we have to make it a little more modern fitting with some of the decor today. Some like to preserve items that are found, or maybe things from our past. Then, you have some of us who just hate throwing things out, and try to find other ways to maybe use these items. Of course when we thrift, and junk we also find many unwanted treasures that can be cleaned, maybe need a touch of paint, maybe reunited with other pieces making something unique, and many endless possibilities.

There are many people around us who do this for their own pleasure, and there are many who do this to resell too. Some will do it as a hobby, and there are others who have mastered these techniques to have their own business doing this as well.

A time to toss, and a time to repurpose or upcycle is the use of old items for new purposes. Reuse discarded materials for creating something of value. I myself like to repurpose items giving them a new life, making them unique for my use, and to sell too. Giving new life to once loved treasures, I enjoy new life added to my home, and I enjoy offering this to other homes for their enjoyment too.

So many things are used with diy crafting that the list is endless. Headboards are made from shutters, pallets, barn wood, etc. Pieces of jewelry are used for making new pieces, adorning picture frames, adding to cards with endless possibilities. I have seen old suitcases used making end tables, decorated for storage of memories with cards and special items. Sweaters, or shirts of loved ones are made into items to remember them with. Pillows have been popular for this. Thrifted shirts, and sweaters can be used to make pumpkins, sometimes handbags are made from this, and so on. It’s amazing all the things that can be done. Look on Pinterest for ideas, google for ideas too.

Pictures below of just a few things made using toilet paper rolls, shirts, tires painted, a plunger making a decorative fall tree, and so many fun possibilities for things.

Repurpose Reuse Upcycle For Memories to Last. Hang onto some of those family memories, and preserve some of them by crafting. Have fun doing it yourself, or find someone to do this craft for you.

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Hope to see you again soon. Take care, and Happy Thrifting everyone! Toodles . . . . . .

Vintage Collectibles Repurposed Upcycled Recycled DIY Handmade Treasures

Vintage Collectibles Repurposed Upcycled Recycled DIY Handmade Treasures with LilacsNDreams. Welcome Everyone!

Spring is in the air and I feel it with the great weather we’ve been having. Ready to open the windows for some fresh air in the house. Do some painting, cutting, gluing, creating, crafting, and treasure hunting for some vintage collectibles along with treasures to repurpose too. So ready to get out of this winter slump blues with the gloomy weather. I love spring time with everything fresh, new, growing, and the air full of life.

This past week was quite a hectic week. Ever have one of those yourselves? Almost everyday was an appointment, something scheduled, and really no free time for anything else. I apologize for not having some craft to share with you, or even a vintage collectible that was found while thrifting. Hopefully this week will be more productive with it being open for anything. Try to get some crafting done along with a little more downsizing of things. I need to add some things into my Shoppe at Etsy as well.

Time is getting closer for our son to be home, and done with the military. So, a few preparations need to be made for that too. Organizing, little more downsizing, and getting house ready for his stay too.

I wish you all a great week with all you do in your crafting, repurposing, and treasure hunting for some vintage collectibles along with found pieces to craft with too.

Thank You for visiting with LilacsNDreams! See you again soon.

Upcycle Reuse Repurpose Recycle To Make Memories Last

Upcycle, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle To Make Memories Last.

There are many of us who enjoy the diy projects of upcycling, repurposing, recycling, and so on. Some do it because it is a hobby that they enjoy, and find pleasure in it. Others will do it for others such as family members, and friends to help them preserve things in their own home. Many of us hate seeing things being thrown in the dumps, and like to be green. There are many who do it, and have done so many projects that they have decided to sell them for some extra money, and to make room in their homes. There are many who have made this a business for themselves too.

Anything in our homes can be used in other ways. We like to upcycle to reuse discarded materials in order to create something of value. Upcycling is the use of old items for new purposes. I love to repurpose items that may have the potential for something fresh, and unique. It is a joy giving a new life to things, but also a new life is added back into our homes, and with other homes too.

Many like to make headboards from pallets, bi fold doors, or maybe using some old fence doors too. Some wonderful market bags, and handbags have been made from sweaters. I have seen an old suitcase be renewed by making it with an expandable file in it for the office, and family papers. Another popular item used is jewelry. Broken pieces, maybe lonely pieces that belonged to a family member, and etc. They are great to put around picture frames with maybe a picture of the family member it came from. I adore those who use linens from times past for new table cloth, curtains, lampshades, and etc.

Whatever it is we do with items instead of discarding them has brought joy to many of us who do it, or for many of those who shop for such items done by some talented people. As many will agree we also do it to Make Memories Last.

So, what is your reason for doing this? Maybe you are someone who does not have the time for this craft, and like to purchase such things from those who do this. Whatever the case may be we all have our own reasons for upcycling, repurposing, reusing, and recycling.

Memories, let's make them last

Thanks so much for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams, and hope you all are having a great week so far! Summer almost gone, and fall is working it's way to us. Enjoy the week, and see you all again soon. Toodles . . . . .

Sentimental Upcycling Repurposing to Make Memories Last

                                                      Quilts From Baby Clothing

Favorite Family Recipe Custom Dish Cook Handwriting

                                                       The Broken Plate

                                               Custom Messenger Bag

Sentimental Upcycling Repurposing to Make Memories Last

Many of us over time have had items of family members, special friends, spouses, and etc that we dearly cherish. Over time the items get worn, maybe have had an accident that it breaks, or it has been sitting collecting dust too. We often think to ourselves I hate to get rid of it, darn I broke it, I am not using it, and this is the time when we need to know that we can convert something sentimental into something useful. Our wonderful memories can be cherished in another way.

Old items have their own memories, energy, and emotions that have come from times past. This is when it is great being able to give new life to a memory, and keeping it alive and present with us by using the craft of upcycling, and repurposing. Some of us are able to do this ourselves, but most of us will instead pay someone to do this wonderful art. One advantage is the quality, and craftsmanship in old items is great. The old saying "they don't make it like they use to" comes to mind with this.

So many things can be done with everything we hold dear to us. Some popular things that are being made is brooch bouquets, use of materials once worn or used from times past making a quilt, throw pillows, stuffed animals, maybe paint some old wood bowls, baby blankets can be used, hang onto them broken dishes as they make wonderful brooches & necklaces & pieces of jewelry, plates printed with family recipes, lace buttons and linens, and the list is never ending. See just a few pictures I shared above from some of the merchants at Etsy showing what they can do with various things.

So, remember that some of those heirloom pieces you may have will have many ways to give them extra years of love. Incorporating pieces of your past so they can be preserved forever is something to treasure. It is always a joy to make something new again with what we already own. So, don't throw anything away just quite yet. Find a way to preserve that memory just a little bit longer for you, and maybe to pass along with your family members too.

Thanks for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams, and I hope that you enjoyed the visit as well. Take care, and hope to see you again soon. Have a Happy fun filled day!

Repurpose, Upcycle, Recycle, Reuse With Discarded Items

Repurpose, Upcycle, Recycle, Reuse With Discarded Items

Hello everyone at LilacsNDreams! Glad you are stopping by. Like many others I like to roam the internet, read magazines, visit blogs and websites, and learn things along the way. With this, and so much more I see creations done by different people, what they have done, how they have done it, and am in aww over everything that I see all the time.

Definitions I found to words when they were googled is:

Repurpose: take one thing, and use it for something else. For instance a shirt could be used to make a handbag, or some type of shopping bag. Dinner plates used to make cake pedestal stands, cups and saucers used for candy dishes, jewelry holders, candle holders, and the imagination is endless.

Upcycle: is familiar to recycling in that you are taking something, and reworking it into a new form for continued use. Main difference is that you are not altering its form back into its components for reuse.

Recycle: return to a previous stage of cyclic process; convert waste to a reusable material. Example would be a box being broke down into making new cardboard.

Reuse: whatever the purpose you basically reuse the item for the same purpose more than one time.

Giving new life to items that you already own. There are so many things around the home that people can do this with. The possibilities are there by using maybe a little paint, some wax, varnish, glue, fabrics, lace, buttons, clothing, door knobs, hooks, pottery, glassware, dinnerware, silverware, vintage collectibles, and pretty much anything extra you having sitting around.

Coffee Tea Pots can be used for planters, holding your utensils in the kitchen, making some adorable coffee pot people that I have seen before. Use chairs, ladders, ironing boards to hold some books, hang on a wall, hold flower pots, and again endless possibilities.

I just adore bits, and pieces from the past being made into something new for us all to enjoy with our homes, yards, decor, and etc. Sometimes I hope with this being done that it too would help remind everyone of simpler times.

Wow! See how much fun junk can be? I hope everyone enjoyed this topic today, maybe get a smile about something remembered, see things in a different way, and of course to help you with some creative ideas. After all we are all collectors of a little bit of everything. If you don't reuse pieces as they are, why not consider repurposing them in ways that puts a smile on your face too.

Thanks so much for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams! Don't forget to share some of your ideas, or techniques with us too. Enjoy, have fun, and be safe everyone. See you again soon.

Repurpsoed Upcycled Reused Reconstructed Vintage Items

Old Vintage Drawer repurposed into a wall shelf, or storage piece to use. This item was found with the bhg.com site.

Here is an old vintage suit case that was used to make this medicine cabinet in the bathroom. How neat is that? This item was found with pinterest.com

I have seen many different things done with old, vintage, antique mirror frames. This is one that you will see done often. I found this from a seller at Etsy.

Repurposed, Upcycled, Reused, Reconstructed Items of Vintage being used for some of these homemade techniques. So, what do you think, and do you approve of it?

Hi there, and Welcome back to LilacsNDreams! I have something I was curious about something, and wanted to kind of put this out there for others to read, consider, and share with us about.

With vintage items there has been an issue of repurposing, upcycling, recycling, homemade, altering, reusing, and reconstructing such pieces. Some pieces that sometimes are used might have a minor flaw with it, maybe it is a lonely item left from a set, maybe something that didn't sell, odds and end piece collecting dust. something headed to the dumpster, etc. There are some pieces that might have any flaws, has lived a glorious life, but the owner wishes to show the item in an updated from that would fit with the times of today. Whatever the reason may be there are pieces of vintage that are used with repurposing, upcycling, recycling, reusing, reconstructing, and so on.

There are some who have strong feelings that vintage pieces should not be used in these techniques, or altered in any way. They feel they should not be used for any crafting form. Quite some time ago I did see a comment made about repurposing being the end of all antiques.

Then you have others comment about preserving things that have been damaged, or greatly loved over the years. So, why not make them into something that is wonderful after they have seen their glory days. Another thought was taking something old, and creating it into something new again would create potential for new collectors that maybe were not reached before.

Antiques, or vintage often reminds people of their grandmothers things, and this would not be the in style for the younger generation. With this some feel that antiques are being destroyed, and this would be then end to all antiques.

I love things that are old, I adore things that have a past, I love to learn about these things, and I so enjoy the stories with different pieces too. Even though I like some of these pieces that do not fit fully into the decor of our home, and with the taste of other family members either. Now, if they are updated in some small way they seem to be better accepted.

Over time I have seen some who adore treasures in this way, and I have also seen those who enjoy vintage treasures as they are, and being upset with this craft that is growing. So, without any arguments, no heated discussions, what do you think of this? How do you feel about it? I ask you to please be comfortable in sharing, and to please remember that everyone has their own opinions. There is no right, or wrong answer to this. Please respect everyone when replying to this issue.

I thank you for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams, and I appreciate those who comment, share, and contact Me with personal messages too. Have a super Wednesday, and see you all again soon.

Repurpose Upcycle Liquor Bottles for Home Decor

Repurpose Upcycle Liquor Bottles For Home Decor

Hello again, and Welcome back to LilacsNDreams! I just love it when people share their ideas, show pictures of what they have done, and knowing how we can do some of these projects inexpensively too. Ever have one of those moments when you see something, and think "Who Would Have Thought?" Don't worry, it happens to me quite often.

Above you will see a picture of bottles that are used for decor with the bathroom. Use some lotions in them, sweet smelling bath salts or bath oils, and so on. Now, the bottles you see above are liquor bottles that have been cleaned out, and decorated for this purpose. Neat idea, huh? You know it doesn't always have to be the liquor bottles either. If you find other bottles at home that have some of the distinctive shaping for this purpose it is great to use them too. Clean the bottles out good, maybe add a printed label to decorate it, add some burlap string tied into a bow, and you get the picture. I found this picture at Pinterest, and it showed there that this came from Sublime-Decor.com

Sometimes these bottles are great to show on your dressers, vanities, on the counter in the kitchen filled with kitchen accents, put a couple of them on a shelf, maybe a mantel, and so many possibilities when you repurpose and upcycle different pieces.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and that you enjoyed your visit with LilacsNDreams today. Hope I was able to give you some more ideas to either do with your own home decor, or maybe give someone a gift for theirs too. Thanks for sharing your time with Me today, and hope to see you again soon. Take care, and have a great Monday everyone!

Chairs Repurposed Up Down and Upside Down

Chairs Repurposed Up, Down, and Upside Down.

Welcome to LilacsNDreams everyone! I was really excited when I found this roaming on Pinterest again. You know, that place is really neat to visit, get ideas from, see who else shares some of your same tastes, neat place to roam, and I will warn you it can be addictive too.

Ok, back to this picture I am sharing, and what it is showing you. As you can see with the top picture these are white folding chairs that are being used. They display how the chairs are hung, and then opened. When they are opened it is amazing the ideas shown to use in organizing a closet, a wall, a room, and so on. Actually, this would be a neat way to take a small area, and make a "walk in" closet too. Hang the chairs, unfold them, use the seat as a shelf, and the bar or foot rest area of the chair you can use to hang clothes from. Now, this isn't saying this is the only way you could use these folding chairs, but it sure opens a door to some really neat ideas don't it? If you wish to see pictures just a little bit bigger visit YICONGLU where the pictures came from originally that I traced back to.

As you can see I have been in the mood to roam the internet, and find some neat ideas with repurposing, upcycling, recycling, and reusing things. I just love diy projects, and the things that everyone shares too.

Hey, I want to thank you all for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams! I really appreciate it, and I hope to see you all again soon. You are always welcome to drop me a line, or leave a comment too. I love sharing, and hearing from everyone!

Take care now, and see you all again soon. Have a sweet Thursday.

Recycled Crib Into a Storage Shelf Unit

http://www.pinterest.com/cue2go/upcycle-recycle-repurpose-ideas/
Recycled Crib Into a Storage Shelf Unit is fantastic looking, and how neat too!

Welcome back to LilacsNDreams everyone, glad to have you hopping on by. I have been catching up with things, listing things at Ebay to clean house a bit, and of course during this time I like to roam the internet as well. I will visit different blogs, shops everyone sells with, and Pinterest is also another place of interest to visit with too.

I so enjoy seeing DIY projects done by many other talented people. I enjoy seeing all the pictures, the instructions that are shared with some projects, and I really like looking at all the pictures which also gives me ideas, and more ideas to note. By the way, my notes are growing, notebooks are filling up, and I have not done any projects yet. I think it's a winter thing. I feel more alive working on projects when it is nice out, I can be outside with fresh air, in the garage painting, and well....you know what I mean, right?

Above you will see a picture that was found at Pinterest, and the picture belongs to Shelterness.com too. I have seen other cribs that have been upcycled, but this one today caught my eye. I like the piece of glass that was set on top of it making that table top for it. I like how they organized the shelves underneath, and this is one piece I would not have first guessed it to be a crib at one point. Simple project that turned out looking natural as it is now, don't you think?

So, have any of you completed any projects lately? Or, are you like me making your notes, accumulating your notes, and waiting for good weather too? I found some other good little projects to be sharing too. I will try to squeeze some of those in with other things I also share here too.

Hope you enjoyed your visit toady everyone. I want to thank you for stopping, and sharing your time with LilacsNDreams. I always enjoy the visits, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon. Take care, and have a wonderful Wednesday. Happy Hump Day All!!

Upcycling Reimagining Repurposing Bookcase Paint and Trim

Upcycling Reimagining Repurposing Bookcase Coffee Table Paint and Trim!

Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Wow! Where did this week go to? Halloween has passed, our first weekend for November is now by us, and the presidential elections are now past us too. Christmas will soon be here, and everyone is busy with Holiday preparations, shopping, filling our online shops, and making time for being creative too.

I wish I would have copied it over here for ya'll to read, but I read a statement from Kovels little newsletter that I get periodically. This little letter shares about auctions, and what some things of interest have sold for, is informational, helps people with identifying marks and things with their items, and etc. In this particular letter received today they had made a comment about Recyling. They had noted how recycling is a trend. I believe them about this too. Through searching on the internet, watching what others share, and even your physical brick & mortar shops feature this within their shops that is often shared on Facebook too.

This is something I found shared on Facebook that you will be viewing below. Have you ever had one of them shelves, or maybe a book case, or some other form of furniture resembling this that you maybe move from room to room, don't want to get rid of it, but yet know there is something else you could do with it? Below the pictures come from Crafty Nest, and from their post they did on Oct. 16, 2012 called Before & After, Blast From the Past . . . Plain Bookshelf = DIY Fancy China Cabinet. In this particular posting they share with you the before, and after of this item. They share with you how they did this piece, where some of the pieces were found, and etc.

Is this not lovely what they did? If you are interested in this DIY project done with this book shelf, give their website a visit for further details.

I hope that you enjoyed this DIY transformation of this book shelf that I am sharing with you by Crafty Nest. I hope it helps you with ideas of what to do with your own pieces, and that maybe this is also inspiring for some of you too.  Repurpose, Upcycle, Recycle, and Reimagine is the trend of today.

Thanks so much for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams, and hope to see you again soon. Take care, and hope this week ends well for you. Have a wonderful weekend. Till the next time . . . .

Recreate Recycle Repurpose Upcycle Reuse Glassware

Recreate Recycle Repurpose Upcycle Reuse Glassware.

Happy Monday Everyone, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams. Hope ya'll had a wonderful weekend. Not too bad here. Did get a few things done. Have to watch my listings to see what few things will be offered next.

Glassware. I enjoy working with it, I enjoy collecting, and sometimes I think I am infatuated with it too. I like many kinds of glassware too. Clear glass, pressed glass, retro glass, vintage glass, colored glass, different glass shapes, designed glass, and etc. I still enjoy collecting glassware for the home, but have also seen other things done with it, and just adore those who reuse, repurpose, and upcycle such pieces with glass.

Something I have been watching a lot of, and trying to play with a bit on my own too is Glass Totems. These pieces can be made for your gardens, and are beautiful during the season when you have plenty of beautiful sunshine too. Other pieces can also be made for in the home as well. So many possibilities with each piece, and just so many ways to repurpose, upcycle, and reuse glass.  It's amazing the creativity among everyone who shares.

Below I will share 3 pictures I found surfing the internet to give you some ideas. I just adore how the flowers are made to either set on a metal pole, or how they can also be hung on the fence too. Of course if you can hang them on the fence you know they could also be hung inside your homes too. Who would have guessed that a bird feeder could be made? Very nice thought. Also, just how different glassware pieces can come together to make what you see here, or find on the internet too.

RecreationsInGlass is the artisian who made this, and I found her on Etsy as well too. She has some wonderful ideas, and did some good work with her studio offerings too.

PearlsVintageGoods is yet another seller I found on Etsy who does things with glassware too. I just adore the glass flowers made by many that are set into pole stands, can hang on your fence, hang in your home, etc.

This is an adorable bird feeder that was done with some blue glass, and clear glass as well. This I would really like to make myself, but don't have the tools to help me with making the holes in the glass for it to hang. Hmmm, I wonder if maybe I could just make it to also sit like on a table, or something too? Just some ideas, and of course notes I am making too.  Sorry, but I find a place mentioned of where this picture came from to share with you.

Hope you enjoyed what was shared with you today in regards to repurposing, and reusing glassware. Some really neat ideas that have been shared, and offered. Don't forget that there is much more out there to see, and being offered too. Bit by bit I will keep sharing with all of you, and ask you to please also share with us as well. Thanks so much for sharing your time with Me today. Always happy to see you visiting LilacsNDreams. Remember you are also welcome to share with us here as well. See you all again soon.

Reuse Repurpose Recycle Upcycle Discarded Treasures

Reuse Repurpose Recycle Upcycle Discarded Treasures by using bits, and pieces of the past with present, and making something new. Giving things a new life!

Me, Myself, and I along with many others spend time roaming the internet, reading things, learning things, and etc. Along the way with all of this we also will find people who are creative, people showing what they have made, showing what they do, some show how they do it, and so on. Over time this has become a yearning with me to do things by reusing, repurposing, and upcycling items. For me to do this it is relaxing, and it is fun being able to put some of my thoughts and ideas into something too. I enjoy the smile that comes to my face, and hopefully you will smile with some of it too.

I have googled some of these more common words used by everyone to give an idea of definitions to some of those popular words we use.

•Reuse - whatever the purpose, you basically reuse the item for the same purpose more than one time

•Repurpose - take an item and reuse it for something else (repurpose it) before it goes through any breakdown, and reformation. For example a shirt that is being used to make a handbag, or maybe a shopping bag. Maybe using a metal pipe for some kind of sculpture. Use something in a new way.

•Upcycle - this is familiar to recycle in which you take something, and rework it into a new form for a continued use. The main difference is that you are not altering its form back into its components for reuse.

•Recycle - return material to a previous stage of cyclic process; converting waste to a reusable material. Example of a recycled box that is broken down, and made into a new cardboard. Another is plastic is melted down, and melted into a new plastic.

I know, sometimes it gets confusing. How we use the words, and explain them also means something too.

I hope this minor explanations for some of these popular words has helped you in some way. I know it gets confusing. Heck, I sometimes find myself there too. I have commented before that is you are not able to reuse items as they are why not repurpose them, or upcycle them to make something that puts a smile to your face, and also with others too.

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams everyone! Have a wonderful day, enjoy all that you are doing, and come back to visit again soon. If you have something to add that would be great! Please do as all are Welcome.

Trash to Treasure With Thrifting Repurposing Recylcing and Reusing

Trash to Treasure With Thrifting Repurposing Recyling and Reusing. Welcome to LilacsNDreams for a little more share time of something that I, along with many others, enjoy doing. Thrifting, Repurposing, Recreating, Reusing, Collecting, and as some would also consider making Trash into Treasures.

I have always enjoyed vintage collectibles, and another side of me hates seeing things being thrown out too. Every time I might consider throwing something away, or maybe donating it I always have that little thought in the back of my mind....what could I do with this, what else could be done with this, maybe I should paint it, maybe this piece could be glued to that part, is there another way I could use this, and so on. No, I am not a hoarder of treasures, but consider myself to be a keeper of such things.

You have them same thoughts too? Sometimes vintage collectibles are used to repurpose with. Other times it might be a lonely piece that needs a little loving. You know, a single plate, a glass piece that is missing it's partner to it, a single candle stick that came from a set, etc. I love thrifting for things like this. Yes, I thrift for the home, and sometimes things to wear, but I also look for them lonely pieces that no one wants anymore. I feel that if given a new life they could also bring joy to someone adorning their homes with such things.

Instead of buying new, why not save a little bit of money and do some thrifting, and reusing of pieces. With the reuse market of today you actually will find items that are both good quality, and are inexpensive too. Keep in mind that not all thrift store merchandise is junk. Sometimes they need a little wipe from the dust that collected, maybe just need to be cleaned and polished to be alive again, maybe just a little mending of sorts, and so on. If you would really honestly look you would also find that you will see brand name items being offered in good used conditions, some are like a new condition, once in a while some items are new with their tags and were donated to the thrift stores, and of course this is all found at a much more reasonable price too.

Thrift Stores are found in many areas, and there are many ways to be thrifting too. Visit Goodwill, some stores specify they are a thrift store, your local second hand stores, Savors, your missions stores have some really nice donated items, and then there are some stores that operate with their monies going towards maybe women shelters. There are many kinds out there in all sorts of forms, shapes, and sizes. There are many possibilities hidden within these stores that are looking to be reloved. Consider it doing more with less, and loving your home again. Sometimes turning junk into treasures is a feeling of accomplishment, and loving some of them pieces all over again.

I have different Thrift Stores I will frequent, but always enjoy finding a new one to add to my visiting list too. Thrift Stores, Second Hand Stores, Consignment Stores, Goodwill, Missions, and more. I find many things to add to the home to make it more comfortable, and to make it a welcoming home for all to visit as well. Where do you like to thrift, and what do you like to thrift for? What are your passions when it comes to thrifting?

I want to thank all of you for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams. Make sure you come back to visit again soon. Never know what I might share next, and of course I enjoy when everyone shares along too. Happy Fourth of July to all.
