Glass Angel Repurposed Restyled Handmade DIY Home Decor

Glass Angel Repurposed Restyled Handmade DIY Home Decor with LilacsNDreams. Welcome Everyone who visits today!

I’m pretty sure I have repeated sharing the Glass Angel made by LilacsNDreams, and the sale of it happening too. Well, I am happy to say with me sharing this I have had someone ask me if I had anymore like this one in the green that I sold. Unfortunately, not completely like that one…just the other 2 pictured with it were still available. I explained us moving, and so on.

Needless to say moving has not been completed fully yet. One advantage is we are not closing on home we were in, still making payments, and are considering selling it once everything is fully out of there. We of course will go through to clean, and vacuum the place thoroughly too. With the new home I had 2 places designated for my crafting supplies, and unfortunately that is not working out. So, I have to consider another alternative which is becoming harder for certain reasons.

Couch, loveseat, and 2 chairs have been delivered to the new house. Air ducts have been thoroughly cleaned, and turns out it was badly needed too. Couple holes were found that got filled, and a valve was turned off which is now back on. The airflow is much better than before.

Our son had gotten a bad head cold while moving, and did good getting over it too. Today we picked up our new TV. Got it home, and we found a fault with it. The drive is about 1 1/2 hours for us one way. Son decided lets do it, and we took the TV back to Best Buy. We got lucky! They had another one in stock that we could bring home. It’s on its stand for now, is much bigger, and an investment that was well made. In about 1 1/2 weeks our last item should be delivered which is our new counter height table, and chairs. All of this is great so far.

Then…I got sick with head cold. Hubby came home for weekend to help get appliances here, and washer and dryer too. Things are coming along in between everyone’s work schedule. I still have the ending results of the head cold, cough, congestion, etc.

Upon checking my emails I have a notice from the person who inquired about the glass angel I had sold. She’d really like to have 1 for her, and 1 for her sister, they like purple, and make it 3 they would like to have done. Again, there is no rush on this order. So, now I need to find my ribbon, embellishments, and etc I use for these to be made. Locate the glass bodies, and if I don’t have anymore I’ll have to go in search for more.

Needless to say I haven’t applied myself fully like I should with crafting, and selling online. I’ve been fighting with forces that think it’s a waste of time, and money that I do this. I haven’t had the support for me doing this which is disheartening, and lonely at times too. So, when I sold the angel I was happy. I was even happier with the event leading up to the request for 3 glass angels to be made too.

So, that is how my week has been for me. I hope everyone is having good things happen for you, accomplishing things you desire to do, and things have been great for many of you. I appreciate you visiting with LilacsNDreams today. Stop on by anytime. Take care everyone, and be safe! Toodles . . . . .

Glass Angel Repurposed Upcycled Restyled Recreated Handmade DIY Home Decor with LilacsNDreams. Welcome to all, and happy to see you dropping by.

Below you see a picture of some Glass Angels that I repurposed upcycled restyled handmade DIY home decor I recreated. The angel in the green SOLD yesterday with my shop at Etsy. I’ve also had an inquiry if I will be making more of the angels too. I’m happy I sold one, and pleased a question was asked about more being made too. Unfortunately we are moving now into another house bought. I have a designated area for my crafting right now, and believe me I am anxious to be crafting again. Just the timing of everything, right? I have a new counter height table ordered, and cannot wait for that delivery to give me more of a working area too. I’m thankful for this sale, and am hoping soon I can be doing things again.

Do you have something you prefer to craft more than other things you’ve created? There is so much out there to be seen, so many ideas, and many inspirations for crafting too. I have supplies that have accumulated for things I want to do. Us moving, and me getting organized cannot happen fast enough for me right now. So, until then I will keep posting here the best I can, and try to keep everyone updated.

We took 2 loads to the house today. Pretty much the storage upstairs here is cleared out. It mostly consisted of christmas, Halloween, and tubs of pictures I am hoping to scrapbook with. Plans, many ideas, and can’t get to it fast enough.

I am happy to have you visiting with me today, and hope to see you again soon. Till then take care, have fun with all you do, and be safe everyone. Thank You for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Toodles . . . . .

Blog Blogger Blogging Social Media Networking

Blog Blogger Blogging Social Media Networking with LilacsNDreams. Hello, and Welcome to all who are visiting!

I don’t quite have my valentine piece done to share the completed vision with you. I picked up a few more things to try with it. Sorry about that. So, I grabbed another topic to discuss with everyone. I know I’ve covered some of the Blogging, and Social Media Networking before, but I wanted to share a little more with it today.
Blogging, and Social Media Networking had grown fast over time. Today it is still very much used with online sales, marketing, brick and mortar stores use different forms, and so on. So, a question is Why Blog? There are different reasons I will point out to you.

1) Social Media Networking is one reason for it. Blogging is another form of Social Media like Pinterest
FacebookInstagram, and so on.

2) Another reason to Blog is it gets you published. How you ask? By working with things in regards to like your SEO, your keywords used, topics used which helps you get noticed in search engine rankings.

3) Another reason to Blog is for you to get your message out there that you want shared with others. There is no right, or wrong words and pictures to put out there. It’s up to you what you wish to share, what you want others to see, and what the message is that you would like others to relate with.

4). Blogging is another way to share some tips, ideas, tutorials, questions, answers, and just sharing.

5)  This has become a great way for teachers, and students to share work, class notes, pictures, etc. Kind of like a newsletter for some companies, and places too.

Blogging is not just for one form of profession, but for many forms and ways of things that people do. Online Sellers, Brick and Mortar Store owners, Big Companies, Small Companies, Journalists, Photographers, Publishers, Writers, etc. Many people have turned to forms of Blogging as the Social Media Networking area grew.

Choosing the right platform is a task that you yourself will have to look at, and determine the fit for you. Couple of popular ones are with Blogger.com, and Wordpress.com. Some platforms will be for free, and some will offer paid versions too. Some people have websites that they include a blog with it, and I’ve seen some use their domain, or one of their domains, for a blog too. Choose the platform that works for you, that you are comfortable using, and depending on what you want to do for your blog too.

As you can see I use Blogger, and I have used them for years. I have wordpress too. But, I don’t spend much time with it. I am use to blogger, I’ve accustomed to the ease of use of things around here, its been easier for me to learn to do things without changes done all the time. I have noticed I can be seen in search with wordpress, and if I work things like I should my blog shows in search engines too.

I wish everyone well, have fun in all you do, enjoy, and please be safe. Thank You for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Take care, and see you soon. Toodles . . . . . .

Repurpose Upcycle Handmade DIY Valentines Decor

Repurpose Upcycle Handmade DIY Valentines Decor at LilacsNDreams.

Welcome Everyone, happy to see you! I don’t know about you, but this time of January, time of the month, time of year just seems to be a little blah don’t you think? With all the rush for the Christmas season, and now things are slowing down a bit to breathe. About this time it usually hits me like this every year. I am looking at different craft projects I could be working on, but my mood isn’t quite there. So, I look at things, see what others are doing and sharing, and make some mental notes of things to do.

First of all I guess I should finish removing the rest of the Christmas decorations, and putting things away. That’s  something I usually don’t rush. By the end of the month it will be done though. Pretty much same thing every year.

Before Christmas was over I was seeing things in the stores for Valentines Day. For that I do wait till after Christmas to deal with any crafty projects I want to do. I wanted Christmas to be Christmas. Also. I’m not one who makes a whole lot for this holiday. I bought an item to go with a small project I want to do for this time. Maybe this week I will get to it so I can share with everyone on the next visit. Wish me luck.

So, not a whole lot for me to report, or really discuss this time. Sorry about that everyone. I’ll try to be better prepared for your next visit. Thanks so much for stopping by, and visiting with LilacsNDreams! Be safe, and take care till the next time everyone. Toodles . . . .

Pointsettia Christmas Tree Elf Candy Cane Ladder Handmade

Pointsettia Christmas Tree and Elf Candy Cane Ladder Handmade with LilacsNDreams! Welcome to all who visit!

Last time I was here I showed a couple of things I was working on for Christmas. I noted I would show you finished projects. See pictures below here for that. With the Elf Candy Cane Ladder I added another elf sitting. So, instead of 2 elves on the ladder I ended up with 3 on it. The Pointsettia Tree was fun to make, and is unique I think. I have it sitting in a little metal christmas pail I had found at Walmart. Next year I think I will redo around the bottom of the tree since it looks a little too busy. Fun part with these projects is that I can always decorate in other ways since I did not glue any of the extra figures, and things I decorated with.

I used jewelry wire to attach the elves, and the decorative candy canes to the ladder steps. I did this in case I wanted to decorate it a little different the next time it was used. With the tree I just sat everything around the tree in the snow, and pushed in the different decorative pinecones in the front. Now that I look at it its a little overwhelming with that. So, next year I’ll redo some of that too.

These were fun to make, and I enjoyed showing them off in the house during christmas. It added a little character along with any store bought decorations.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and wishing you all a Happy New Year! Thanks for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Take care, and be safe. Till the next time everyone . . . Toodles!

Christmas Cane Elf Ladder Pointsettia Tree Handmade

Christmas Cane Elf Ladder Poinsettia Tree Handmade by LilacsNDreams. Welcome to Everyone! Glad you could drop by.

I Love Christmas, and really enjoy repurposing, restyling, upcycling, and handmade items with christmas decor too. I have often thought about making up as many things as I could for christmas decor, and offer it for sale all year long. After doing some minor research it can, and is being done too. Something to think about, and consider. If I would keep enough inventory of christmas supplies on hand I could spend the summer painting, gluing, and making a lot of things to offer. You know Christmas in July, and for the rest of the year. I really like the thoughts for this. We’ll see what I do.

OK, my 2 projects I have been working with are not fully done. I have a good start, but need to complete them with some other items added into the decor. Bows, Christmas items like pinecones, finishing ribbon around the trunk, adding a base, and just some different things to dress them more.

These 3 pictures show 1 of my projects I’m working on. For this I have used 3 plastic candy canes to make this ladder. The 3rd candy I had cut to make 3 steps for the ladder. I am finally using a glue gun to help with a more quicker way of connecting things. Once things have bonded I then will add a little E6000 in different places to achieve a more sufficient bonding that will hold. As you can see I’ve added 2 little elves to this sitting on the ladder steps. I intend to add a little more christmas embellishments before I consider this completed. Fun!

These 2 pictures show my Christmas Poinsettia Tree I am making. I have added red, and white poinsettias to the top of a plunger making the tree top. This will sit, and bond over night. Tomorrow I will then arrange the poinsettias more making a fuller tree top. I then want to add some small glittered pine cones into the tree top. I’m thinking of using some green glittered ribbon for the tree trunk base, or silver glitter ribbon, or plain green ribbon. I’ll play with it a bit, and decide then. I have a red cardinal that will be added with this tree along with a silver christmas tree bucket for the base. The bucket will be filled with support for the the plunger to stand, and then I’ll cover that with some white snow filler. Of course I will be adding some christmas embellishments around the base, and so on. I will make sure to share with you pictures of the completed projects.

This week is Christmas! Is everyone ready for this? Any special plans, gatherings, family, places to go, plans of how you will spend the day, and so on? I know this pandemic has put a curve to a lot of things. For us we have our son, and our daughter with her family joining us. Everyone’s health is great, and this is family time we do every year. This is 1 close to normal thing we will be doing together as a family.

I want to thank you all for visiting with LilacsNDreams! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Year too! Take care, be safe, and see you again soon. Toodles . . .

                                                        MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!

Kitchen Splatter Screen Snowman Repurposed Handcrafted DIY

Kitchen Splatter Screen Snowman Repurposed Handcrafted DIY with LilacsNDreams.

Welcome Everyone! Holidays, Christmas, meal planning, decorations, planning activities and gatherings, crafting, and so many things to do for the big day. Also, right after that is the end of the year celebrations too! How you doing with all of this?

This year is different just like the rest of the year has been. We are fully decorated here inside, and out. We are making preparations for the meal to be served. Gonna be kind of big this year with lots of food to serve everyone. One thing that will be different is the gift giving. I do not plan on wrapping any gifts this year. Everyone has been getting things delivered as I put it together what they are to receive. Our biggest thing is being with family, and friends celebrating the day with all kinds of food, sharing laughs, remembering times and those not with us, and so on.

Without flash

With flash

As for crafting I have accumulated things to do to start with. This particular project pictured above was something I have completed...almost. I think I’m going to add a scarf, or maybe some mitten hands. I have to decide that yet. I made this piece from a Dollar Tree splatter guard. I added a white shelf liner to make the face white. I used a pink talis like material making the pink cheeks, and I used black buttons for the eyes and mouth. For the nose I did not remove the handle on the spring protector, but did paint it orange for the snowman nose. I’ve added a child’s black stocking cap to fit. Issue I am dealing with on the hat is I put the eyes to high. They should have been a little lower towards the nose which is making the hat hard to position for a descent look.

I have sooo many more christmas crafts I intend to complete. I have been stocking with supplies I want to use, and my piles are accumulating too. Probably not all of it will be completed by Christmas time which is fine. I hate rushing things, and prefer to take the time to craft. I hope to be offering pieces for sale after I complete a few of them. I will share pictures as I complete some of these things.

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Till the next time have fun, enjoy this time of year, and be safe everyone! Toodles!

Repurpose Restyle Upcycle Reimagine Vintage Letter Wood Blocks

Repurpose Restyle Upcycle Reimagine Vintage Letter Wood Blocks at LilacsNDreams

Hi there! Glad to have you dropping by. Repurpose Upcycle Reimagine Restyle is something you can do with so many things. Old, new, collectibles, and a little bit of everything can be left as is, or recreated with any of these steps. Below you will see I used some old vintage collectible letter wooden blocks. There are many different things you can do with them, and I chose what I did with them. I spelled a couple words with mine, Sewing and Quilt. Not only did I unite wooden blocks to spell these words, but I added some embellishments with them too. I used some vintage sewing spools with some having thread on them yet. I added some straight pins, safety pins, buttons, needles, etc. I used an industrial glue that dries clear, and does well bonding too. Both of these items are listed with my Etsy Shoppe. Visit to see more pictures, to purchase, or contact me at lilacsndreams@gmail.com and I would be happy to invoice you myself with PayPal. Contact me with any questions. I am happy to assist you.

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams, and hope to see you again soon. Till the next time take care, and be safe. Toodles . . . .

Halloween Craft Repurpose Upcycle Restyle Candles Black

Halloween Craft Repurpose Upcycle Restyle Candles Black at LilacsNDreams!

Hello, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams where I like to share vintage collectibles, repurposed treasures, a little upcycling and restyling, and of course some DIY handmade craft projects too.

Next weekend is Halloween already! Last weekend of the month, holiday season change, and more. Where did that time go, right? Things have been so gloomy this year of 2020 that I look forward to the upcoming seasons for some change, and the feel of the holiday spirits.

There are many crafts, and creations during this time. There are so many creative people sharing what they are doing so that others can try some of the same things. But, each piece is always unique because they are made with different hands that put their own special touch to things.

Candles are always great for many occasions, holidays, different seasons, and just because. They add a nice touch to many homes, and their decor. Below you will see pictures for the popular pool noodle candles that are being made. I had fun with these, and it was a learning experience for the next time too. I had 2 different sized noodles that I cut different sized candles with. Once I did that I next made sure I got holes made in the tops of them. A place that the tea light candle would set into. Then I spent time painting each piece black. Once that was all dried I then added a colored glittered glue that I had for these. I added the glue twice in the same places trying to get that melted wax look. It didn’t completely give me the look I was wanting. I might have needed a thicker, or better glue. Also, using a glue gun might have been a little bit better too.

So, I got that much done that I could then add my black tea light candles along with some little Halloween decorating. I used a bigger skull, smaller skulls, couple of bats, I found a single black rose to add in along with some white spider webbing too. I set this all into a simple distressed white tray with rope handles. Now, if I would have used a pizza pan painted black you might have seen things a little more clearly too.

This was fun, I enjoyed doing this, and would do it again! In fact, I’m already looking for a few more noodles, the colors I can find, and etc. I’m ready to make some candles for fall and Thanksgiving, and getting ready for Christmas too. It’s been a while, but I purchased a single candle from the store the other day. Wow! I didn’t realize how much those were costing now. So, doing what I’m doing making these is more cost efficient, I end up with a bundle, colors and sizes I want, how they’re decorated, and etc.

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams today!Hope I gave you some ideas for yourself with crafting, or maybe if you find a crafter who can offer their services to you for this too. Take care, and be safe out there everyone! Till the next time, Toodles . . . . . .
