Coffee Pot People With DIY Projects Upcycled

It never ceases to amaze me the things that people do with everyday items from our homes, items found from thrift stores, pieces that have been thrown out to garbage, and etc. No wonder I don't get much done with all I can see on the internet, how I am amazed, and how I am in awe of so much of it . . . LOL:)

We often use our old coffee tea pots for maybe plants, and little things like that in our homes, or on our porches. As you can see there is more that we can do with them, and extra pieces that we find to help with these adorable lawn ornaments that have been made. I remember seeing this blog quite some time ago, and adored it then. Over time I had lost their blog address, but have found it again. I just had to share it with you all so that you could see some of the ideas shared with making Coffee Pot People. After visiting with them you might be able to get some wonderfully fun ideas for your crafting too.

Coffee pots, teapots, pan lids, vases, toasters, chandelier lights, a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and you have an adorable conversational piece that others will adore. Over at this blog you will see this, and other crafty things that they share along with just everyday things too. People like you, and me who happen to have a creative side of things too.

It is Monday, and I hope ya'll had a wonderful weekend. Did you do all you wanted? Did you get some thrifting done for certain projects, find some must have vintage pieces, or did you get some crafting done with maybe some painting, cleaning, and refurbishing too? Whatever you all did I hope you enjoyed, and was able to complete things you wanted to. I strayed away from my list of items to do, but I did get a few things done while I was able to.

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams, and as always I hope you enjoyed your visit. Take care, and see you all again soon. Toodles . . . . . .

Vintage Rising is Rising at The Vintage Village

Vintage Rising is Rising at The Vintage Village

I love socializing, and belonging with different groups. I meet others with the same interests, I learn things, can ask questions, love sharing, and love seeing what others share as well. For some time now I have belonged to The Vintage Village for those who like vintage, sell vintage and antiques, and has become more fun with a group there called Vintage Rising

This is a fun group with Vintage Rising that is also growing with members. This group offers items not quite vintage, new and used goods, crafts, craft supplies, and more! Above you will see our new logo design that is being offered to the merchants for their own customizations. This one showing is for LilacsNDreams thread.

We have quite a few members who are participating with this venue. You are able to buy directly from the thread, contact the members to buy from them, follow the links with their various shops to purchase items being offered, etc. If you have not visited our new home, I invite you to come visit with us soon! Come to join us in having some fun!

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams, and sure hope to see you again soon. Hope ya'll had a super weekend, and wishing you a great week. It's a new month, it's June, and summer here we come!

Do It Yourself Gift Wrapping Creative Ideas

Do It Yourself Gift Wrapping Creative Ideas.

Welcome to LilacsNDreams everyone! Christmas almost here, got all the gifts you want to buy, and now the part of gift wrapping. Do you like to gift wrap? If so, do you buy your own rolls of paper to use? There are some pretty papers out there to choose from, but once in a while they all start to look alike don't you think? This time of year we sometimes like to put our own personal touches to the gifts as well too. So, why not be creative with your gift wrapping, and make it fun too.

Below you will see examples of some gifts done in a creative way. These ideas hopefully will also help you to maybe think of other ideas not mentioned here as well. I found this list with Country Living

Mix Tape by using some festive masking tape, or consider some washi tape too. Alternate the tapes horizontally, vertically, and so on. As in this picture the tape mimiced the ribbon used. The snowflake was fashioned from some frayed candy cane colored paper straws. Neat huh? This comes from Joy D. Cho

Box O' Joy can be just as fun as the gift inside too. Use subdued tones, maybe some fun prints, polka dots, and etc. Buy boxes already decorated, or maybe decorate some of your own with scrapbook paper, material, an old shirt, maps, and etc to create your decorative boxes. These are from Paper-Source.com
Use an adorable musical theme. This is done with some repurposed Jingle Bells sheet music to give this some festive cheer. Enlarge music on copier, and then print it onto thick paper. Use a satin bow of course, and the jingle bells provides the finishing touches. Comes from Grapevine Invitations

Another creative idea is to use ready to wear. Put some new life into a thrift store shirt you found, add a brooch to the package. Not only is this an adorable idea which gives a person more gifts when unwrapped with the brooch, and the shirt, but this also makes it eco-friendly too. This came from Jenn Playford

These are all wonderful ideas shared by others, and there is still so much more out there to consider using as well. Many many ways to have fun wrapping those gifts for under the tree. Use craft paper, yarn, ribbon, buttons, tissue paper, use wall paper samples to maybe make some letters, old maps, magazine pages, fabric, etc.

For gift tags you could also have fun creating too. Consider using a twig, ornament, glitter buckles, buttons, playing cards, etc. Make some pretty velvet flowers, or paper flowers to add another touch as well.

So, do you like gift wrapping, or are you bored with it? I would suggest you consider making it fun to wrap by using some fun things from around the home, and giving your gifts a special little touch of their own from you. Fun, creative, and special.

Thanks so much for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams today. Take care, wishing you all a wonderful holiday, and see you again soon.

Wishing everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS ! !

Halloween and DIY Dryer Vent Pumpkins Homemade

Halloween and DIY Dryer Vent Pumpkins Homemade is a fabulous idea!

Hello, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams everyone! Well, our summer is now gone, and the calender says that on the 22nd of September Autumn begins for us. Still nice weather, but the days are not so hot and humid, and the nights are cooling down as well. School has started, Homecoming events with schools, leaves are changing for the season, and our first holiday that we will soon have upon us is Halloween.

How far ahead do you prepare for holidays at this time of year? Do you decorate a lot? Maybe you are like me, and like to decorate outside, and inside the home as well. Course the easier the project, the less expensive it is, the more I can make and create with too. Halloween as we know always shows us pumpkins everywhere. Some are used for decorating outside the home, some for inside the home, and just so many things we can do to make these as well. Don't take me wrong, I enjoy using the real pumpkins, and making things. But, I also enjoy crafting to make even a few more things, and sometimes those can also be stored to use for next year Halloween too. Some items can also carry over into the next upcoming season as well such as Autumn, Harvest, Thanksgiving, etc.

Below you will see pictures of some simple pumpkins that were made. These pictures were ones that have been shared on the internet, and if you search a little more sometimes you will find instructions for doing these as well. Something simple, and are adorable when done too.

Depending how you want yours to be completed will determine how much of what supplies you will need. There is your glitter spray to consider, some spray paint coloring for the pumpkins, cinnamin sticks, cut piece of wood, stick from your own yard, maybe some moss for texture, leaves, vines, and etc. To start these pumpkins you will need some dryer vents.
Cut these dryer vents to the sizes you wish your pumpkins to be. Once you have that done you just bring the ends together, and glue them making a round circle shape of the pumpkin. Next, get your spray paint out to add the colors that you want. There is the traditional orange, white has become popular, I have seen black pumpkins, and there is no rule to this. Choose what you desire to use with your home.
Once you have them painted you can then add a little bit of glitter if you would like. As for the center stems that is where you can choose to use cinnamin sticks, a cut piece of wood, maybe a stick from your yard, use the empty roll from toilet paper, and just whatever you choose is going to be good. Once you glue that in the center of the pumpkin you can add some filling of moss around it for texture. Maybe you would like to add some leaves, or maybe some kind of leaf vine too. Whatever you choose it will be wonderful. There is no right, or wrong to how you create these adorable simple pieces. Do what works for you, your family and friends, your home decor, and what your creative mood feels at the time too.
Now, I know I seem some dryer vents around here some where. Guess I will have to go digging for some of it, and if I don't find it I shall head to the store. You know you could also consider some of the black vents that are used outside the home too. Just a last minute thought, but also hoping to help you be inspired as well.

Something simple, something cute, and something fun to do with little work makes for a really fun DIY craft doesn't it? Hope this helps some of you by showing you a little bit, and giving you some ideas to work with as well. Inspiration is everywhere, and I hope you have found some here.

Thanks so much for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams, and hope to see you visit again soon. Enjoy, have fun, take care, and have a wonderful day everyone! Toodle Loo............
