Google Shopping Keywords and Selling on Ecrater

Google Shopping Keywords, and Selling on Ecrater is something to consider.

Hi All, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams! I have been gone all day again on Wednesday. Busy busy busy. Each time I have a day like this I make sure to still stay up at night to read my emails, read messages to me, check my shops, and of course read what is being shared in all the forums I like to frequent, and roam through.

Many of us who are sellers have many shops. Some of our shops are all in the same place, some of us use different venues to sell with, and some of us also have websites that we like to sell with as well. Some day I hope to be more active with my website, or maybe just do everything from my blog here too. Anyway, I am getting ahead of myself there a little bit.

One of the shops I have is with Ecrater. I have slowly...and I mean slowly been adding my inventory into this shop. My vintage collectibles, items found when thrifting, and I have also been adding in my items that I repurpose too. Ecrater is free to list, no final value fees, has been around for a while, and they do offer choices of paypal and google wallet as payment services to use too. As some of us, or many of us are aware soon Google Shopping will be completely different for use. In order for our products to show with Google Shopping you will have to pay to be a part of it. I have heard it can get quite spendy too. I have never really worried too much about Google Shopping as I am seen in Google Organic searches, found in yahoo searches, product images show at The Find, and etc. But, let's admit it, the more we can get seen by others, the more exposure, the better chances of sales, right? In the forums at Artfire tonight another seller there who also sells on Ecrater shared something interesting with all of us. TheLivesAndLovesOfMaggieTheCat shared this with us:
"For all who are or are considering opening on eCRATER I just learned that the admin is paying Google for minimum key word bids so our items will still be picked up by Google Shopping. How is that for a totally free site?"

WOW! This is good news, and even more incentive for me to start working harder on those listings I have slowly been adding in there. With this kind of announcement it is time for me to step it up a bit more with the Holiday Shopping fast approaching for us too.

So, for those who are sellers visiting with LilacsNDreams, and if you use Ecrater I hope you find satisfaction with this announcement as I did myself. I wish you all well, and many happy sales to you too!

Thanks for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams, and hope to see you again soon. Take care till the next time everyone. Toodle Ooohhh....

Your Photo File Names Should Be Descriptive Keywords

Your Photo File Names Should Be Descriptive Keywords. You are asking why for this, right?

Welcome to LilacsNDreams everyone. Grab a coffee, or tea, or some form of drink to have a seat, and relax. My posts of lately have been about SEO, blogs, domains, and different things to help us all with our Online Sales, Crafting, or whatever it is we have chosen to do. I came up with a small issue that was interesting, and wanted to share with you all. Might be a reminder for some of you too.

We have all been informed how our Item Titles should be descriptive to help with SEO, placements in the search engines, and etc. Something else to consider that is also helpful is a file name that we use with our pictures (photo.jpg) when we upload to our blogs, websites, venues, social networks, etc. This is helpful for when someone uses one of the search engines, and they choose to limit their searches to maybe photos only. So, if your photo has the file name that was assigned to it automatically reading something like 12345.jpg it probably won't show up with a specific search. But, if someone were to say call their photo ivory-pillar-candle.jpg it will have a great chance of showing up, and being seen on the first pages too! If you have more than 1 picture of the same item it is ok to use numbers as well. Like ivory-pillar-candle-1.jpg, and ivory-pillar-candle-2.jpg.

SIDE NOTE: Google reads spaces as "%20" So, if you uploaded a photo maybe named
"my photo.jpg" (notice the space?) the actual URL for this photo would be something like http://www.mysite.com/my%20photo.jpg which can cause a lot of your links to be broken if they are not linked to properly. You should either use _ (underscore) or maybe a - (hyphen) for any file that will be used in the URL. Actually, the Hyphen is preferred because Google reads these as a keyword separator. Yes, the underscore does prevent a broken link, and is treated like another character. So, for instance "tealight_candle" is "tealightcandle" with just another character that is in between. Now, "tealight-candle" is going to be read as 2 separate words.

Isn't this interesting? Who would have guessed, right? After reading something like this a while ago I had done changes to my pictures in my files before using them for my listings at different venues. Sometimes when a search is done using keywords you will find pictures from my listings showing in the groups they show right away on the 1st to 2nd pages in searches. Every little bit we can learn, and do helps us all in one way, or another.

Hope this little tid bit with your photos was helpful to you, and all that you do everyone. Thanks so much for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams. Make sure you come back to visit again soon, and feel free to share with all of us here as well.

Blog or Blogging Using Seo With Results

Blog or Blogging Using Seo With Results. Who would have guessed, right?

Hi, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams everyone! Glad to have you with us all here today. I have started my 1st post with my Blog about Blogging for Business Pleasure or Both. Today I want to try to cover using some of the Seo techniques in your Blogs, and how it can help too.  I am going to cover a little bit today, and in my next posting I will cover a little bit more about Seo with Blogging too.

When we Blog whether it is for business, projects, organizations, companies we work for, etc we need to remember to work with our Seo. I try to do it all the time myself. A good reminder is to start your Blog post with your post title. Make sure you have some keywords in the title. Also, remember that the search engines will give just a little bit more weight to the 1st 3 to 4 words. It helps to use keyword phrases through the body of your post. You should really try to do this right away, and try to use it a couple of more times in your post too.

It is good to use links suitable for the pages in your Blog. Link the name to a page with a site where you can maybe buy an item from that you are selling. It is good to link your keywords. Don't forget to also anchor text too. Here are a few examples to help you. Ecrater is one of my stores, and maybe use the word vintage in a sentence. While doing that I could also note that I like to repurpose items, and I enjoy upcycling pieces too. Not so hard, and works great in sentences.

An important reminder is to not over due it either. If you over load with the keywords, and links Google will frown on it. They see it as bad, and they will not allow you into the searches either. I would like to note that you should also work on your inbound links too. Those are links that come from other web pages into your Blog. Preferably these inbound links are from other pages that share with the same things you do, are involved with the same topics that you discuss, and you know...that sort of thing. This will also have more weight with searches too.

In conclusion, things that you should work with in Blogging, and to help your rankings and searches are to perform keyword analysis to help you know which keywords  that will drive traffic to your site. Sometimes referring to your Blog as a Site, or Website is acceptable by many too. Remember to also put those keywords in your titles, within the content, and use them throughout your post too. Just don't over load the keywords so that Google has no reason to frown upon you.

Hey, I hope that this little tid bit was once again helpful to you bloggers out there. Keep in mind what is shared here pertains to Blogs, Blogging, but can also be used in other ways with your sale listings, and so on too.

Thanks for stopping by LilacsNDreams again. Hope you enjoyed the visit, and look forward to seeing you again soon. Take care everyone, and have a wonderful day!
