Below you see a picture of some Glass Angels that I repurposed upcycled restyled handmade DIY home decor I recreated. The angel in the green SOLD yesterday with my shop at Etsy. I’ve also had an inquiry if I will be making more of the angels too. I’m happy I sold one, and pleased a question was asked about more being made too. Unfortunately we are moving now into another house bought. I have a designated area for my crafting right now, and believe me I am anxious to be crafting again. Just the timing of everything, right? I have a new counter height table ordered, and cannot wait for that delivery to give me more of a working area too. I’m thankful for this sale, and am hoping soon I can be doing things again. 

Do you have something you prefer to craft more than other things you’ve created? There is so much out there to be seen, so many ideas, and many inspirations for crafting too. I have supplies that have accumulated for things I want to do. Us moving, and me getting organized cannot happen fast enough for me right now. So, until then I will keep posting here the best I can, and try to keep everyone updated. 

We took 2 loads to the house today. Pretty much the storage upstairs here is cleared out. It mostly consisted of christmas, Halloween, and tubs of pictures I am hoping to scrapbook with. Plans, many ideas, and can’t get to it fast enough.

Welcome to LilacsNDreams today everyone! Glad to have you stopping by! I am excited, and hope I can slow down enough to get it all out here for you. Saturday we closed on the house, got the keys, and by Monday they should be moved out for us to have full possession of the home. So excited, but do dread the packing, and moving part. After doing that Saturday morning we then went furniture shopping. Stopped at 1 store, but didn’t quite have anything for our tastes. Second store we went to was well worth the time spent there shopping for everything we wanted. Just need to visit again to see if we can get our new dining table set there. Unfortunately, time got away from us. We did all we could, and have a very good start. Couch ordered, and delivered in August. End of July the love seat, 2 rocker chairs, mattress with new headboard and frame for our son will be delivered. We also need to get our own bed from another place since we are wanting one of those raising/lift beds. Just so excited about all of this.

Tonight I got a little bit excited again. I was reading a newsletter I receive that discusses things with EBay, Etsy, selling online, changes with things, etc. I read 1 topic about Google working with some of the platforms with selling, and 1 of them was with GoDaddy. I have had my domains there for years. So, I looked at things a little closer with numbers of course. For the monthly fee at GoDaddy for what they had to offer it seemed very intriguing. Pay them a fee for the exposure I can receive with Google, and social media places. Not have all the rules you have with some of the other platforms, and to be selling again using 1 of my domains is pretty exciting. I am anxious to get moved, and very anxious to be working with this at GoDaddy to start showing my products and selling them. I can’t wait to get started. It’s been a long time since I was excited to sell. I’m so excited that this move cannot happen fast enough now. 

I’ll keep you all updated as I progress along. I have LilacsNDreams dot com domain directed at my blog/website which I can always change with ease at GoDaddy. For now to start with I will be using LilacsNDreams Shop domain for my GoDaddy store. I’m so excited that I’m more focused with this tonight then with moving. Been a while since I felt like this with everything happening with the pandemic, shut downs, being isolated, and losing freedom for a while there. I’m so excited I almost feel alive again!

Wish me luck everyone! I’ll keep you posted with things as I figure them out. I hate that I will be waiting till after we move, but I am going to play around with wording, setting things up on my GoDaddy shop, colors, pictures, and all of that fun stuff.

Hope everyone had a great, enjoyable, and safe 4th of July!

How many times have you found something in the store, or online you’d like to have until you see the price. Sometimes it’s an ouch reaction, and then the shipping unfortunately can play a factor with the online purchase too. You see something with home decor, maybe kitchen decor, and really would like to have it. So, you spend time looking around stores in person, and you search online too. Everywhere you look some of the prices are out of range, doesn’t feel like its worth the price for how it’s made, and so on. You decide not to get it because of those things along with your choices of no too. Yet, you still think about it. That would look great there, I could put it here, that would bring out the color in my room, and many other thoughts. The price is not affordable, the husband/wife might not like that amount spent, and you wonder why it can’t be found cheaper. Why can’t they make things for someone like me to afford?

There are some ways to get around these issues, and have your home resembling what others may have. What’s even better is that you don’t have to spend the price they did, but still have something like them only better. It will have it’s own personal touch either by you, or someone else who did the work. If you like to craft, do things with your hands, are some what creative you will enjoy this, and understand. Don’t worry if you’re not because there are many people out there doing these things, and offering them for others to enjoy in their homes as well.

If you don’t already know the Dollar Tree Stores have items that are great for crafting items you see somewhere else. Dollar Tree is used a lot for items in these projects. Along with items from there you might have some extra things at home that can be used too. You sometimes can find things from Dollar General Stores to use along with different thrift stores too. Items from there along with Dollar Tree makes some really neat things.

This particular item uses the paint stir sticks, letters you can buy like that or maybe use a cricut machine to cut or use some stencils to cut as well. You can use already made rabbit pieces, and cover them with napkin-material-scrapbook paper-dish cloth/towel-etc. cotton balls for the tail, and some cut ribbon to make bows. Paint, flowers, glue, glue gun, mod pudge, and when it’s put together it is much less than what you pay with stores. Whether you make it, or you purchase from someone who made it the quality and product will probably last a bit longer too. It wasn’t manufactured, it was handmade.

This can be made using a white cutting board, add some buffalo plaid cloth, placemat, napkin, etc. Use different ribbons to make the bow. Cut your letters, use stickers, buy precut, and many possibilities. The bottom crate is from Dollar Tree, is painted, and attached to the cutting board so that it may sit on the counter/table. If you want add some ribbon, or rope in the hole on the handle to hang it. If you don’t want white you can paint the board, and do as you wish making it yours.

This is neat too. Many different uses for it. This is 2 cutting boards 1 on each end. Use picture frames for the sides, and you can put decorative paper in them, or remove the glass to attach the paper or decoration of your choice. Attach the same thing to the cutting boards, leave them plain, paint them, and etc. Slide in a mini pole through holes on handle to make a full carrying handle. Your choices are endless, but its made to your likes and tastes.

This metal flower is made from the flexy metal tin pans from the Dollar Tree. Some paint, chalk paint, wax, or anything you want can be added to color the petals…after you have cut the leaves from the pans. 

This candle holder is made from your Dollar Tree plastic garden fences. Cut to size you want, paint as you wish, glue together, and decorate the inside as you wish with flicker candles, flowers, greenery, etc. Again, the choice is your personal touch, or thoughts for it.

Again, your stir paint sticks were used. They’ve been varnished, or maybe painted to. From the Dollar Tree they had the windmills with the welcome attached at the bottom. This is painted, and looks to be distressed too. Some flowers were added along the welcome, and at the top too. Twine was nicely added for the ties, or bows that were done.

This windmill for this wall mount was made from the flexy tin pans from Dollar Tree. They’ve been painted, and stressed. I cant honestly remember how the center was made, and attached. Looking in the craft section I’m thinking its some of the thin long sticks that connect in the center painted to match. Everything is from Dollar Tree craft section . . . Which some areas have more to offer than others for some of their craft supplies. Pretty neat, huh?

This is becoming popular making this candle holder too. The arches are made from Dollar Tree race car tracks that have been painted. They are attached to the inside of a canvas picture that has been flipped over showing the open part to use. The top is done with a painted lid, and some sort of ball that is maybe wooden, maybe toy ball, the possibilities are endless. Really neat idea, right?

This is made with the popular pizza pan from Dollar Tree. Use them plain, paint them, add lace, etc. the center of this wall hanging is using the center of a placemat that was cut to fit. Burlap ribbon bow was attached along with a button,  few flowers, some moss, and some greenery. A rope was put around the inner circle, and some was used on the back to hang with too.

Here is another pizza pan that was painted, and stressed. The welcome was removed from the bottom of the windmill, and the windmill was attached to the inner part of the pizza pan. Some greenery was added in, and around the windmill. 2 sticks were cut to size for the bottom making it look like a fence, and were painted too. This can sit on the table with a picture holder, or the attachment can be added to the back to hang it too. Simple, but cute don’t you think?

There are so many things that can be thought of, and made with things from Dollar Tree. These are just a few minor ideas. If you would like to see more ideas you will find many of them at Pinterest as the items shared above are from Pinterest too.

I hope this gave you all some ideas to consider, and showed you the things that can be made from places you might not imagine or think of. Fun, unique, and just enough to make it your own. Not every piece handmade will be completely alike. That’s what makes handmade uniquely yours.

How many of you use PayPal services for your selling platforms, your business, with your websites, used as your payment processor, and etc? I myself have used them for years. Actually when I started with EBay many years ago I was signed up with PayPal. I have used them ever since then, and I am still using them to this day wherever I am making sales.

If you are using their services you have probably received notice of changes that are scheduled, or maybe you have heard some people mention something about it too. For those who miss placed their notices, haven’t received anything , are considering using PayPal, and etc I have enclosed notices that I received in my email along with a notice that was shared on E-commerce Bytes with subscribers too. 

Please take the time to read copies of notices I am sharing below. It really shouldn’t be a surprise for some kind of fee increases with PayPal. I really can’t remember the last time they made a change, or did any kind of increase. It’s all business, and there have been many places that have done increases, did more increases again, and etc. The Postal Service is one of them along with other shipping services too. I guess I can say I was not real surprised by the notice received by them. 

Another quick note about last weeks posting talking to you about the house we are hoping to have. It appears the numbers are looking good according to the realtor. We have to wait for the attorney to be back from vacation that will be doing the papers for closing, signing, etc. As long as nothing else comes up which it shouldn’t. Just being nervous, and anxious. Hopefully, and thinking that maybe by the end of July we should be moved in. It looks good, sounds good, but I guess just waiting for reality to sink in that we are close to moving into a little bigger home with some scheduled home improvements that are being noted. The house is move in ready as it is, but there are some minor things we would like to have done for our comfort. Course it also adds more equity to the home too. Wish us luck!

Wow! Where has this time gone? A lot of time was spent with my husband being ill, his recovery, doctors, hospital, ER visits, and etc. He’s back to work, doing good, still has an issue now and then, but its expected according to the doctor. 

Now, we have a house we have been working on getting too. Thursday we had a slight delay due to someone not doing their job correctly, got some feathers a little flustered, but all is good, and moving forward. The appraisal was done on the home Friday. There have been a few steps with The VA/VU that have been covered with their processing. Learning experience too. So, now waiting to hear the numbers with the appraisal, and hopefully things are good that we will soon be closing…I think it was predicted for mid July on closing. Time will really be moving along then. So many things to donate, downsize, pack, arrange where things will go in new home, which rooms, and so on. Especially where to put all my crafty things, and hopefully in the near future I can start crafting again. 

I will be so comfortable to be crafting again, painting, cutting, and doing some thrifting for pieces to work with, and looking for some vintage collectibles too. The Pandemic put such a hold on things. It’s great things opening up again, and to be able to work towards some normality of things also. I’ve missed doing a lot of things, and am really anxious to get busy with things again. Course, anxious for the house, and adding some touches in there as well. Next spring hopefully we start with some minor adjustments we want on the house too. Extending a room making a 4th bedroom, and adding another bathroom to the house too. Some remodeling, and updating has been done already. Simple things we like, and anxious to add a little more. Putting a tin roof on is also on the list. Dog should be happy there with the fenced in back yard too.

Well everyone I don’t want to bore you with my repeating, and rambling with my excitement of events. Cross the fingers, and wish us luck the next time you hear from me that we are moving. I’m so very very very sorry to all those who have visited, and no new postings done for you to read. I deeply apologize for this. Once in a while Life can throw a curve, or two. Well, that time came for us this past month. 

My husband was scheduled to have all his upper teeth pulled. That went successfully. The dentist liked how things looked his first day after surgery. The following few days from there husband was not feeling well. I was feeling a little off myself too. But, unfortunately for him he kept not feeling well. One of the biggest issues is he was not eating. About a week and a half later I took him to the ER. Great service there. 

Unbelievably he was not tested for COVID. They gave him an IV for dehydration, and talked with him about foods he could eat, and things to drink for protein.

Next day he had a dental appointment. Explained to them what had been happening, some of it they knew about the issues of not eating. Checked his upper mouth, things were still looking good for the healing process, adjusted his denture again to help him. My husband was getting bad headaches too. Dentist wasn’t sure what to say about that. The next night we had the ambulance at the house because hubby was having a hard time breathing, it would hurt, and some slight pain in his chest.

So, off he went in the ambulance with me following hoping we would get some answers as to what has been happening. He still wasn’t eating, drinking water, not enough, and the symptoms kept happening. Got him checked into the ER...different hospital than from a couple nights ago. Went over all the same things, same questions, blood work done, chest X-rays done, hooked him to the IV again, and we were asked again about COVID. He was not tested before his oral surgery, he was not tested at hospital other night, and this hospital was astounded no one had tested him. They tested him on this night, and it was positive. He had COVID Pneumonia, and he was admitted to the hospital. Here he stayed for about 6 days, and sent home with a few instructions. 

He came home on a Tuesday, and on Wednesday Night I took him back to the hospital. Same issue with breathing. He was tested, things look good, and given some instructions. Thursday morning I was woken very early, hubby had called ambulance again due to his chest, and breathing. Rescue unit got there first, his oxygen was good, and things calmed down. He cancelled the ambulance. About 1/2 hour after they left he had me taking him to the ER again. 

This time we spent all morning at the hospital. Ran tests, did a scan checking for blood clots, talked with him, etc. everything was coming out good, no clots, blood work good, etc. Doc spent time talking with him. Explained some situations of COVID, he had it at 1 point, nurse had talked with him about her having it, how long it can take to heal/feel like yourself , etc. This time they explained more, covered a little more, an gave a few more suggestions too. Some medicine had been prescribed, some over the counter sleep aid suggested, and an oximeter was suggested too. Now, with that object my husband treats it like a security blanket. It’s helping him get through this situation, he’s starting to eat more, getting more of an appetite, and he is up moving around a little more walking. He hasn’t worked for 3 weeks, its gonna be about another 2-3 weeks before he can consider working again. 

Who would have guessed this would happen, right? Never any issues with the cross country driving he does in the truck. I feel fine. Just dealing with allergies right now...that time of year you know. Lots of washing, cleaning, and spraying/sanitizing things around the house, the patio furniture, and the car too. 

So, to keep things healthy for him at this time I have not done any kind of crafting, thrifting, yard sales, shopping, etc. Getting a little antsy myself. Things will pass, they will get better...slowly getting there, and he will be back to work, and I can continue with things I have been doing. Slight delay right now, but it will be better soon. Just working with time right now, and this healing process for him. 

I’ve missed being here every week, and I deeply apologize for it too. I’m happy I could take a little time to share with everyone what the real issue is, and please ask for your patience with me during my husbands healing.
