Upcycle Repurpose Liquor Bottles to Home Decor
Upcycle Repurpose Liquor Bottles to Home Decor
Hello, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams! I love when people are willing to show, and share their ideas of creations they have done. Love the sharing because it can also intrigue us to be creative with ideas shared. Ever get one of those moments that you see something, and then think “Who would have thought?” Don’t worry, it happens to a lot of us including me.
The picture above is showing how bottles were used with their bathroom decor. You can buy bottles, clean out some old bottles you had bought and used, and don’t forget that includes liquor bottles too. The bottles have been cleaned out, and decorated for this purpose. You can use some lotions in them, some sweet smelling bath salts, some bath oils, use as candle holders, soap dispensers, design for use as lighting, use as oil lamps outside, and so many uses to consider. This picture showing was found years ago on Pinterest.
Sometimes the bottles you use can be great for show on your dressers, vanities, on kitchen counters, on shelves, on your mantel, use for special occasions, great use for wedding decor, and the possibilities are endless. Liquor bottles, or glass bottles can be creatively repurposed, upcycled, reused, and restyled into a variety of decorative, and some functional items to use. As you will see some of the popular uses are like soap dispensers, vases, tiki torches, decor for weddings or your home, and you can also store liquids in them. Consider olive oil, or maybe a simple syrup too.
Looking at the pictures you can see, and follow where they were found too. A lot of them came from Pinterest…very good source to find pictures, and ideas.
Hope you enjoyed your visit with LilacsNDreams today. Hopefully you get some ideas, and can be inspired as I was too. Take care, and see you again soon.

Glass Angels Upcycled Repurposed Restyled Home Decor
Glass Angels Upcycled Repurposed Restyled Home Decor
Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Today I want to share some of my completed projects of Glass Angels I had completed. Also I found a couple other styled ones to share done by others too.
When I started creating Glass Angels I was using glass chandelier light covers I had found on one of my thrifting journeys. Different styles, different shapes, clear glass, hazel looking glass, and many choices to use for my angel bodies. I first wanted to use styrofoam balls for the angel heads. When I visited a thrift store that I frequented, I visited 1 that had a holiday room. I then seen something else to use. This is where I found a large assortment of ball ornaments. Some were in boxes of 4, 6, and then many loose ones to choose from too. The next thing to figure out was what to do for the angel wings. Find some premade, finding the right size to work with the body size and heads I found, maybe use some petals from flowers, but for the ones I started I decided to use wired ribbon and make my own. I had an assorted collection of ribbon I could choose from for this project. I have a small collection of pipe cleaners, and other embellishments I could use to dress the angels I created too.
I started the creation of these angels, and it was a simple start. Gluing the head to the body that I wanted to unite. Then, I had ideas for everything else that I wanted to do. I started with this step, and altered from the 1st idea I had, and thought of this way instead. Then, I changed that thought to maybe doing it this way instead. LOL! I think you have the idea of how some processes work out.
What really takes the longest amount of time is the gluing, drying, and setting time. This I take time with because I don’t feel it should be rushed if you want it to last too. So, once I get to this point I walk away to let things set, and dry more permanently. I know many use the dryers at this point, but I have had great success with letting things set, and bond more permanently this way. Once this process is done I then finish each item with all the extra things I want to do, and then is when the item is more permanently completed.
Everyone has their own ways, techniques, and procedures that they do with their crafting, and creating. This is my way that I am comfortable with, and I have found works for me. I have not had issues of things falling apart. More importantly customers have been happy with their purchases as well.
